Adding a nominee to your trading and demat account is not just a regulatory requirement it’s a responsible step to ensure your investments are passed on smoothly to your loved ones in case of any unforeseen event.

Here’s a detailed step-by-step guide to help you complete your nominee registration with ease.

Step 1: Access the Samco Star Back Office

To begin, visit the Samco Star Back Office portal and log in with your Samco credentials

Note: The credentials for the Samco Star Back Office and the Samco Mobile App are different.For Star Back Office, the password can either be your PAN number or the password you have set specifically for the Back Office.

Step 2: Verify with OTP

After entering your login details, click on Send OTP.
You’ll receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number or email ID.
Enter the OTP

Note: The OTP is valid for 10 minutes, so make sure to enter it promptly

Step 3: Navigate to Account Settings

After logging in, you’ll arrive at your personal dashboard  a secure area where you can manage and update your account settings.

Now that you’re inside the portal:

  • Click on your profile name located in the upper right-hand corner.
  • From the dropdown, select ‘Account Settings’.

Step 4: Choose the Modification Option

In the Account Settings section:

  • Look for the  Modify Now button and click on it.

Step 5: Select  Add  Nominee 

In the dropdown list of modification services, choose the option labeled  Add Nominee. 

Step 6: Fill in Nominee Details 

In the nominee addition form, enter the following details:

  • Nominee Name, Relationship, and Mobile Number
  • Email ID and Date of Birth
  • Share of Nominee (%) – If you’re adding one nominee, enter 100%
  • Tick the box if you want the nominee name to appear on your statement
  • Check the option if the nominee’s address is the same as yours

Next, choose the Document Type for identity verification options include:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • PAN Card
  • Driving License

After entering all details correctly, click Submit to proceed

Step 7: Provide Nominee Address Details

After submitting the nominee’s personal information, you’ll be prompted to fill in their address.

  • If the nominee’s address is the same as yours, simply tick the checkbox labeled Nominee address is the same as my address. This will automatically copy your address to the nominee’s section.
  • If the nominee has a different address, you will need to manually fill in all the mandatory fields:
    • Address Line 1, 2, and 3
    • Pincode
    • City
    • State
    • Country

Ensure that all the information entered is accurate, as this will be used for identity and communication purposes.

Once the address details are filled correctly, click Submit to complete the nominee registration process.

Step 8: E-sign or Aadhaar Verification

After filling the details for your modification request, you will be redirected to begin the Aadhaar e-sign process.

  • Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number in the designated box.
  • Click on Submit to proceed.

Step 9: Consent and Authentication Page

  • You will be redirected to the Truecopy Credentials Pvt. Ltd. e-sign authorization page.
  • Read the consent terms carefully.
  • Check the box: I hereby authorize… 
  • Enter your Aadhaar Number or Virtual ID (VID) in the field provided.
  • Click on Send OTP.

Note: Ensure your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar to receive the OTP.

Step 10: Enter OTP to Verify

  • You will receive an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
  • Enter the OTP in the field labeled  ENTER OTP.
  • Click on Verify OTP.

Step 11: Track Address Modification Status

After successfully completing the Aadhaar e-Sign, your modification request will be sent for verification.

  • To check the progress, go to the  Modification Status section in the Samco Star Back Office.

Note: The Turnaround Time (TAT) for modification completion without deficiencies is up to 48 working hours after submitting the request successfully.

Your date of birth isn’t just a detail, it’s a key part of your identity in your trading profile. Whether your DOB was entered incorrectly during onboarding or you’ve spotted a mismatch with your KYC records, it’s important to update it promptly.

Here’s how you can complete the update step by step.

Step 1: Log In to Samco Star Back Office

Visit the Samco Star Back Office Portal and log in using your Samco credential.

Note: The credentials for the Samco Star Back Office and the Samco Mobile App are different. For Star Back Office, the password can either be your PAN number or the password you have set specifically for the Back Office.

Step 2: Verify with OTP

  • After entering your login details, click on Send OTP.
  • You’ll receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number or email ID.
  • Enter the OTP

Step 3: Navigate to Account Settings

  • Tap on your profile name located in the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 4: Choose the Modification Option

  • Find and click on the Modify Now button.

Step 5: Select DOB Modification

  • From the list of modifications, select ‘DOB Modification’.

This will open the request form where you can correct or update your DOB as per your official ID proof.

Step 6: Enter your updated date of birth details.

  • Enter your current and new date of birth.
  • Upload a valid PAN card showing the correct DOB 
  • Click on Submit to raise the request.

Note: You can upload your documents in any of the following accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, JPG, or PDF.

Step 7: E-sign or Aadhaar Verification

After filling the details for your modification request, you will be redirected to begin the Aadhaar e-sign process.

  • Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number in the designated box.
  • Click on Submit to proceed.
  • You will be redirected to the Truecopy Credentials Pvt. Ltd. e-sign authorization page.
  • Read the consent terms carefully.
  • Check the box:  I hereby authorize.
  • Enter your Aadhaar Number or Virtual ID (VID) in the field provided.
  • Click on Send OTP.

Note: Ensure your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar to receive the OTP.

Step 9: Enter OTP to Verify

  • You will receive an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
  • Enter the OTP in the field labeled ENTER OTP.
  • Click on Verify OTP.

Step 10: Track Your Request via the Modification Status Panel

Once you’ve submitted your date of birth update request along with the necessary documents, it will enter the verification process. To stay informed about the progress, simply navigate to the ‘Modification Status’ tab in your Samco STAR Back Office.

Here, you’ll find real-time updates on whether your request is under review, approved or rejected.

This blog will walk you through the full process of making the necessary changes step by step.

Step 1: Access the Samco Star Back Office

Once you’ve selected the Correspondence / Permanent Address Modification option, you’ll be directed to a detailed address update form.

Here, you’ll need to:

  • Select the Address Type from the dropdown; choose Correspondence, Permanent, or Both depending on what you’re updating.
  • Enter your new address details, broken down into:
    • Address Line 1
    • Address Line 2
    • Address Line 3 (Landmarks or additional info)
    • State
    • City
    • Pincode

Make sure to review the information carefully to ensure there are no spelling errors or incorrect entries.

You’ll also need to upload a valid Address Proof Document such as an Aadhaar Card clearly displaying your name and the new address.

Note: You can upload your documents in any of the following accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, JPG, or PDF.

Step 7: Complete the Payment for Address Modification

After filling in your updated address details and uploading the required proof, click on Submit.

You’ll then be redirected to a secure payment gateway to complete a fee of Rs 200 + GST for the address modification request. This fee is required to initiate the official update across regulatory platforms.

Follow the on-screen instructions to make the payment using your preferred method, such as UPI, Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, etc.

Note: Make sure the payment is completed successfully, as the modification process will only begin after the transaction is confirmed.

Step 8: E-sign or Aadhaar Verification

After completing the payment for your modification request, you will be redirected to begin the Aadhaar e-sign process.

  • Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number in the designated box.
  • Click on Submit to proceed.
  • You will be redirected to the Truecopy Credentials Pvt. Ltd. e-sign authorization page.
  • Read the consent terms carefully.

Step 6: Enter Your Updated Name Details

  • The screen will display your current Client ID, Client Name, DP ID, DP Name, Depository (CDSL), and DP Beneficiary ID. Confirm these details are correct.
  • Enter your New Name as per the legal document.
  • Specify the Reason for Change (e.g., Marriage, Legal Correction, etc.)
  • Upload a scanned copy of your PAN Card showing the updated name.
  • Upload any Alternate ID Proof (Gazette Notification, Marriage Certificate, Passport).

Note: You can upload your documents in any of the following accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, JPG, or PDF.

Step 7: E-sign or Aadhaar Verification

After filling in the details and uploading the required documents for your modification request, you will be redirected to begin the Aadhaar e-sign process.

This option allows you to change your default bank for fund withdrawals by selecting an already linked secondary bank account and making it your new primary bank.

Step 6: Choose Your Secondary Bank as Primary Bank and Upload Proof

You’ll now see a screen displaying your existing Primary Bank Details and Secondary Bank Details side by side.

  • Review the secondary bank account you wish to set as primary.
  • Upload a valid bank proof document (such as a cancelled cheque or bank statement) using the  Choose File option.
  • Once done, click on Submit to initiate the request.

Note: You can upload your documents in any of the following accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, JPG, or PDF.

Step 7: E-sign or Aadhaar Verification

After uploading the documents for your modification request, you will be redirected to begin the Aadhaar e-sign process.

  • Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number in the designated box.
  • Click on Submit to proceed.

Step 1: Log In to Samco Star Back Office

Step 2: Verify with OTP

After entering your login details, click on  Send OTP.

Step 3: Access Your Account Settings

Once you’re logged in:

  • Look to the top-right corner of your screen.
  • Click on your Account Holder Name.
  • A dropdown menu will appear.

Step 4: Choose the Modification Option

In the Account Settings section:

  • Look for the  Modify Now  button and click on it

Step 5: Select  Segment Addition  from the Dropdown

  • A dropdown menu will appear with various modification options.
  • From the list, choose the option labeled  Segment Addition to proceed with activating additional trading segments.

Step 6: Choose the Segment  to Activate

Go to the Segment Addition section under Account Settings.

You’ll see two sections:

  • Active Segments – shows segments already enabled in your account.
  • Inactive Segments – lists the segments available for activation (e.g., DERIVATIVES (F&O), Currency, Commodity).

Tick the checkbox next to the desired segment.

Click the Submit button to proceed with your activation request.

Step 7: Income Proof Verification via OTP or Upload

After selecting your desired segment(s) and clicking Submit, the system will verify your eligibility based on your Samco account holdings.

If you already have holdings in your Samco account:

You do not need to manually upload income proof. The system will automatically fetch the required details. Simply enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number to verify and proceed.

If you do not have any holdings in your Samco Account:

You will be prompted to upload income proof. From the dropdown, choose one of the following valid documents:

  • Bank statement (last 6 months)
  • Income Tax Return (ITR) of the last financial year
  • Form 16 of the last financial year
  • Latest Salary Slip
  • Demat Statement from another demat account

After uploading the document, click Done to proceed with activation.

Step 8: Track Your Request via the Modification Status Panel

Once you’ve submitted your date of birth update request along with the necessary documents, it will enter the verification process. To stay informed about the progress, simply navigate to the ‘Modification Status’ tab in your Samco STAR Back Office.

Here, you’ll find real-time updates on whether your request is under review, approved or rejected.

Whether you need to update your contact details due to a change in your mobile number or email ID or simply wish to keep your records current, Samco offers a seamless and paperless process to make these modifications online.

In this blog, we will guide you through the step-by-step procedure to update your registered mobile number or email ID using the Samco Star Back Office. The process is secure and straightforward and can be completed conveniently from anywhere.

Step 1: Log In to the Samco Star Back Office

Note: The credentials for the Samco Star Back Office and the Samco Mobile App are different. For Star Back Office, the password can either be your PAN number or the password you have set specifically for the Back Office.

Step 2: Verify with OTP

After entering your login details, click on Send OTP.
You’ll receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number or email ID.
Enter the OTP

Note: The OTP is valid for 10 minutes, so make sure to enter it promptly

Step 3: Go to Account Settings

Once logged in, you’ll land on your personal dashboard, a secure space to manage and update your account settings.

After logging in:

  • Click on your “Account Holder Name” at the top right corner of the page.
  • Select ‘Account Settings’ from the dropdown menu.

Step 4: Select  Modify Now 

In the Account Settings tab:

  • Locate and click the ‘Modify Now’ button.

This section is your gateway to making changes to your account details.

Once you click on it, a list of modification options will appear from bank details to nominee and many more.

Step 5: Choose ‘Mobile/Email Modification’

  • From the dropdown list of modification options, click on:
      ‘Mobile/Email Modification’

Step 6: Enter the Required Details

A form will open up, prompting you to enter your details

  • Your current registered mobile number/email ID
  • Your new mobile number/email ID that you wish to update

Step 7: Monitor Your Request Through the Modification Status Panel

Once you’ve submitted your bank details along with the necessary documents, your request enters the verification process.

To stay informed on its progress, simply navigate to the ‘Modification Status’ tab within the Samco Star Back Office.

This section provides real-time updates on your request—whether it’s successfully processed or if any additional information is needed. It’s a convenient way to keep track without reaching out to the support team.

Note: The Turnaround Time (TAT) for modification completion without deficiencies is up to 48 working hours after submitting the request successfully.

Keeping your bank details updated is important for smooth and hassle-free trading. At Samco Securities, we’ve made it easy for you to change or add your bank account through the Samco Star Back Office. Whether you want to add a new secondary bank account or update your primary one, you can do it online in just a few quick steps.

Step 1: Log In to the Samco Star Back Office

Start by visiting the Samco Star Back Office portal and log in using your Samco credentials. This is your secure personal dashboard where you can manage account-related settings.

Note: The credentials for the Samco Star Back Office and the Samco Mobile App are different. For Star Back Office, the password can either be your PAN number or the password you have set specifically for the Back Office.

Step 2: Verify with OTP

After entering your login details, click on Send OTP.
You’ll receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number or email ID.

Step 3: Access Your Account Settings

Once you’re logged in:

  • Look to the top-right corner of your screen.
  • Click on your Account Holder Name.
  • A drop-down menu will appear.
  • From the dropdown, select Account Settings to proceed.

Step 4: Choose the Modification Option

In the Account Settings section:

  • Look for the Modify Now button and click on it.

Step 5: Select Secondary Bank Addition from the Dropdown

  • A drop-down menu will appear showing various account modification options.
  • From the list, select the option labeled Secondary Bank Addition.

Note: Choose this option if you want to add another bank account without removing the existing one. It’s especially useful when you need to link an additional account for fund transfers while keeping your current primary bank unchanged.

Step 6: Enter Your New Bank Account Details

After selecting the bank modification type, you’ll be prompted to fill in your new bank account information. Make sure that:

  • The bank account is in your name.
  • You carefully enter correct details such as:
    • Bank Account Number
    • Bank Name
    • Bank Type (only Savings account)
    • IFSC Code
    • MICR Code

Note: After entering the bank details, you can either check the box labeled “Make as Primary Bank” if you wish to set it as your primary account or leave it unchecked to add it as a secondary bank as per your preference.

Step 7: Penny Drop Verification 

After entering your bank details and clicking Verify, the system will perform a Penny Drop verification:

  • A small amount (typically ₹1) is sent to your new bank account.
  • This is done to verify that the account is active and belongs to you.
  • If the Penny Drop is successful, then just need to click on Authentication OTP

What If Penny Drop Fails?

If the Penny Drop verification fails, don’t worry; you can still proceed with the bank modification by uploading valid supporting documents as mentioned above. In such cases

  Upload any one of the following documents:

  • Cancelled Cheque with your name clearly printed
  • Bank Statement 
  •  Passbook Copy (first page showing account details)

Note: You can upload your documents in any of the following accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, JPG, or PDF.

Ensure that the uploaded document clearly shows important details such as the Account Holder Name, Bank Account Number, Bank Name, Bank Type (Savings or Current), IFSC Code, and MICR Code for successful verification.

Step 8: OTP Authentication:

  • An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your registered mobile number 
  • Enter the OTP in the required field to verify and authorize the bank addition request.

Once the OTP is successfully verified, your new bank account addition request will be submitted for processing.

Step 9: Track Your Request in Modification Status

After submitting your bank details and uploading the required documents, your request will be sent for verification.

To track the progress of your request

  • Go to the  Modification Status  section in the Samco Star Back Office
  • Here, you can view the current status of your bank modification request, whether it’s under review, approved, or if any action is required.
  • This helps you stay updated without needing to contact support.

Note: The Turnaround Time (TAT) for completing the bank modification if all details and documents are correct and there is no deficiency is up to 48 working hours from the time of successful submission.

As per the NSE circular, it has been made mandatory that all inactive accounts (accounts wherein no trades have been carried out in the last 12 months across all exchanges), be freezed and no trades be allowed until they do their KYC again.

And if your trading account has been inactive for more than a year, as per the instructions by the exchange, we are required to freeze your trading account until you submit your KYC details again.

Follow the steps below to reactivate your Samco trading and demat account:

Step 1: First, you need to log into Samco Star backoffice with your client ID and password. There, you will find the option to verify your current details with Samco. 

You’ll be prompted to update your annual income. Select the valid income range and then proceed to the next step. 

Step 2: Moving forward, you need to upload the requisite mandatory documents in order to begin the RE-KYC process. 

You’ll need to keep the following documents handy in jpeg, png or jpg format. 

  1. Address Proof (Aadhaar Card/ Ration Card/ Voter’s ID)
  2. Photograph
  3. PAN
  4. Signature
  5. Bank Proof (If banking details are updated)

Starting off with the Address proof, kindly select the address proof that you wish to submit. Eg. Aadhaar card; you are required to upload the images of the front and the back of your Aadhaar card. 

Next, upload your latest photograph, an image of your PAN, and even your signature. 

Note: For signature, please make sure to sign it on a black piece of paper.

Step 3: On uploading all the necessary documents, click on the Submit button. In the next stage, you will receive a unique verification code for your In-person verification (IPV) process. 

There are two ways to start your IPV process. 

  1. IPV with photo
  2. IPV with video

IPV with photo:

You must write the 4-digit code (which is visible on your screen) on a white, blank sheet of paper and take a selfie with the photograph (Refer to the sample IPV below). Then, save the photo and proceed to the next stage. You could even retake the photo and reupload it, if you’re not satisfied with the current one. 

IPV with video: 

Once you see your unique verification code on your screen, click on the REC button. This will open your phone’s camera settings; allow your phone to capture the video and sound. 

Then proceed by saying out loud the following line “My code is ….”, with the camera facing you. 

Next, save the video and upload it. In case you wish to resubmit the video, you can re-record and upload it again.

Step 4: Once the IPV is done, proceed to the Aadhaar verification stage. Here, you need to enter your Aadhaar card number and click on the Submit button.

Note: In case your mobile number is not linked to your Aadhaar card, continue with the Physical mode, wherein you’ll be required to download the PDF of your application and physically sign it and then send it to our office.

Send the physical documents on the following address:

1004 – A, 10th Floor, Naman Midtown – A Wing, Senapati Bapat Marg, Elphinstone Road, Mumbai – 400013, Maharashtra, India.

If you choose to proceed with the digital verification, you’ll be redirected to the Aadhaar gateway. Click on the I Agree button and proceed to the next stage.

Now, accept the terms and conditions and enter the Aadhaar card number. You’ll receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and click on Submit.

After following and completing all the above-mentioned steps, you’ll see the modification status. 

Note:  It takes 24-48 business hours for our KYC team to complete your RE-KYC procedure.

Few traders might want to link additional bank accounts with their Trading and Demat accounts. One might want to link multiple bank accounts with his/her trading account for convenience, facilitate pay-ins from multiple accounts etc.
All you need to do is download the Trading / Demat Account Details Addition / Modification / Deletion Request form by visiting www.samco.in/download. Fill in this form and send it to the following address.
302 – A, 3rd Floor, Naman Midtown – A Wing, Senapati Bapat Marg, Elphinstone Road, Mumbai – 400 013, Maharashtra, India.
Note that you shall also be required to send the proof of the additional bank account being linked which could be a Bank attested bank statement/passbook or cancelled cheque with your name printed on it. Refer the article on list of documents required for trading and demat account – Point number “Valid proof for a corresponding Bank account i.e. Proof of Bank Account”.

Following is the Guide on how to fill in the Trading / Demat Account Details Addition / Modification / Deletion Request form
Fill in your SAMCO Client Code, DP Client ID and Name of Respective account holder, In case of multiple account holder / Joint account holders you are required to fill in all names of all the account holders. Tick on the two boxes below the details section to confirm and authorize SAMCO to update the respective details in your DEMAT, Trading and KYC accounts. Below is the image highlighting the above details.
PS: the DP ID is pre filled in the form and you can find your SAMCO Demat Account Client ID from the SAMCO STAR.

Fill in all the details in Capital Letters

Carefully fill in the the Bank account details you want to add / change. In the first column i.e. Addition/Modification/Deletion Column please specify if you want to Add, Delete or Modify Bank account details, in the “Existing Details” column mention the “Existing bank account details that are linked to your trading account. then add the new bank account details in the “New Details” Column carefully. Enter the Bank account number, Bank Name and Branch, IFSC Code and MICR Code of the Bank account.
You are almost done, sign in the section highlighted in yellow, In case of multiple / joining account holders all the holders will be required to sign in the segment highlighted in yellow. Post which you need to send the form to SAMCO on the above mentioned address

The same process and form can be used to Change / Modify / Delete details linked to your Trading & Demat account like Address, Linked Demat Account etc. Corresponding proofs will have to be given along with this modification form for completing the modification process.
